A Streetcar Named Macgyver
Simple Words My Twenty-Something Brother Has Misspelled, and Explanations He Subsequently Emailed Me

"pants" (spelled: pance)
Explanation: "I was typing quickly [while working as a transcriptionest], and when I finished that sentence I knew something was wrong. I looked at the word 'pance' and tried to figure out what it was. I mean... it does rhyme with 'dance', doesn't it??? Then I realized that the word was 'pant', and that the plural is 'pants'. Then I got real depressed."

"very" (spelled: verry)
Explanation: "This one I often get confused on. I mean, it's a synonym of 'really' and I always forget which one has double consonants at the end. So I often spell 'really' with only one L. I mean, how the hell am I supposed to remember which is which?"

"until" (spelled: untill)
Explanation: "I'm standing by this one. I'm pretty sure some people consider 'untill' a correct spelling."

"necessary" (spelled: neccasery)
Explanation: "Okay, I admit that was pretty messed up. I made a misspelling in every single syllable of the word. But for real, that is a hard word to spell. I mean, pretend you don't know how to spell it already, and then try."
